The ICE conference is dedicated to all researchers who tirelessly work to advance our knowledge; and to practitioners in festivals and events who put together great shows for our enjoyment and needs.
The spirit of ICE is to encourage institutions to host the biannual conference and the general expectation is that the host must have a department and/or programme in event management, cultural events, business events or related subjects, preferably be at least a Bachelor degree level. Many institutions find this an invaluable opportunity to market their own programmes to a wider academic community and generate marketing interests locally, regionally and internationally.
For this reason, ICE operates on a non-profit basis and receives no commission. The local host is expected to shoulder all necessary costs involved in hosting the conference, while keeping the registration cost to the minimum (we strongly advise the local host to aim for a break-even and not to make a profit from hosting ICE events). In return, the host institution is granted the rights to use the ICE brand, its associated images and slogans and support from the ICE committee members. Host institutions are typically invited to join the organising committee of the next conference to share their own expertise and to build up a strong and supportive network of academics.
